If I don't look at you, you're not there!
Discussion
You know the routine...
Trying to exit from my works car park this evening, needing to turn right.
Usually little or nothing approaching from the right, but very busy from the left.
So, it wouldn't be any hardship for those approaching from the left to let the occasional car out.
However.. this evening I have about 6 of them, all staring straight ahead, doing their best to pretend I'm not there.
So... I turn left instead, to take an alternate route, which ultimately leads to the same road I was heading for.
As I turn into the main road (having looked carefully for traffic) I have barely moved about 100 yds (at this stage now approaching stationary traffic) I find a BMW 3 Series bearing down on me at huge speed, headlamps flashing furiously. Lo and behold, it's one of the "if I don't look at you, you're not there" people.
At this point I gestured to him that the traffic ahead was stationary, and what was his fuss about?
Bloody prat. He must have been doing in excess of 70+ mph in the single lane NSL.
I seem to encounter this a lot - you know that they've seen you - yet they pretend they haven't.

k1ng morons.
What is it with some people?

I disagree to be honest, traffic on the main road isn't obliged to give way to you and it's often more dangerous when someone decides to brake at the last minute to let someone else onto the road. Sure it's nice when people give way to you when you don't have priority, but I understand them not doing so.

I'm not saying they should be obliged to give way to me.What I failed to add was - they were in a stationary queue!
I was trying to exit from the junction in the red circle.

3 series, what a frigging tosser!!!
Oh the irony. And I'm not stereotyping people by the brand of car they drive.
This car just happened to be a 3 series in this instance.

I see from your profile: "E90 325I M Sport"
Which is what provoked my response...
Mostly I think they do not look beyond their nose. Anticipation does not happen.
Following the daughters sports day yesterday, I was waiting for a number of cars to pass parked vehicles. Technically I had right of way, as the cars were parked on the other side of the road. However there was enough oncoming traffic that it was more sensible to wait.
Bear in mind that this is a normally quiet village, so it's not the drive to the death that you get in London.
Old blind geezer in a Rover (what else!) overtakes me and drives straight into it creating complete chaos. He then drove at 30 mph when out of the village and generally right pissed me off.

Seem to me that there is a great deal of selfishness on the roads though. A "me me me" approach.Following the daughters sports day yesterday, I was waiting for a number of cars to pass parked vehicles. Don't get me started on those who drive at 40 in the NSL and continue along at that speed through villages with a 30 limit. Grrrr!
