Would anyone happen to know where I could aquire some deep mdf window board? To cut a long story short I have made an alcove under my stairs for av equipment and need a base to sit everything on. I have a bay window with a deep bull nose wooden shelf and would like to match the look here but cannot find anything anywhere cry

I realise the best course of action would be to buy a sheet of 18mm MDF and router the edge, but I don`t have a router, nor do I know anyone with one.

Does anyone sell bull nosed MDF? I need a lump about 1000mm wide by 850mm deep

Cheers in advance biggrin

I do not think you will be able to find what you are after. Best would be to have a local joiner make up the desired shelf - shouldn't be too expensive.

I think? I got 22mm thick MDF many years ago.

Got a local company to drill holes in it then put steel rods in and Chem fixed to the wall.

Therefore not seeing any brackets etc.

Take your MDF to a local joiners and they would probably do what you want re. the bullnose for a drink!

A router isn't the easiest of things to use so try a local joiner or kitchen firm.

For a bullnose just stick it in a vice and use a handplane, finishing with sandpaper. Wood would be nicer to work than MDF which can go fluffy.

Why not just buy a half-round decorative moulding such as this http://www.richardburbidge.com/mouldings/decorativ...
and pin and glue it onto the edge of your MDF ??

Only the chaep stuff does that, something like good quality medite has a much denser core.

Many thanks for all the advice, I`ve decided to chop a standard 18mm lump to size and then swing by a couple of local chippies and see if one of them will route the edge for a drink

Haha, I`m tempted to give this a go and post a photo of the results, just for laughs biggrin
