I am looking for a watch in the region of £500 quid give or take. I am looking for something fairly modern but not too complicated (don’t need loads of functions). I quite like square style watches though some round ones are very nice.

My problem is I have girly little wrists and a lot of the watches I have seen are way too big! I’m struggling to find anything, please help?

Have a look at Hamilton and Oris - You might find something that fits the bill from those companies thumbup

How about an Oris Rectangular Day Date? It's small (30mm x 35mm and 11mm thickness), rectangular, uncomplicated and an automatic ... RRP is about £760.00 with a strap, but PT has them for £620.00

Hamilton Automatic would be a good choice

I have a Hamilton XCopter in my collection, lovely watch and keeps great time.

For £500 you should be able to get a Quartz Tag at one of the oulet stores (Bicester outlet village) also. Although an automatic would be arguably a nicer purchase.

Check out Christopher Ward, they do some lovely stuff at silly low prices. Got one a couple of weeks ago and it is amazing quality. www.christoperward.com

They show the watch sizes and measurements so you might find something you like.

I've got a Hamilton Khaki Navy GMT, retails about your budget. It's a big watch but I've got girly wrists too and while it's big, it doesn't look OTT.

This is the one I've got:

I didn't get it from them I'm afraid, just found that they had the stock online when I linked it. I actually got it in a local jewellers who was discontinuing them so got a bit of a bargain.

I like the air race, but as they were discontinuing it I had the choice of this one of the same watch with white. I decided to go for a bit more colour (I'd have gone for the yellow one if they had it!)

Do decent second hand Omegas fall into this price bracket? If so any examples?

From personal experience I went for the Sinn 556:

http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/Sinn%20Current%20Sto... - 3rd one down.

which I bought from Neil at Chronomaster.co.uk.

I can, as can many others on here, vouch for this guy - extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with!

^^I like the Sinn at that money, or a Citizen Meccanico. I have one and it's superb, but you cannot order them in England. biggrin
