Hi all, I realise this question may be answered by personal opinions!

Basically, I'm fed up with using cheap halfords crud products when it comes to things like screenwash.

Anyone have a good selection for
A. screenwash
B. Oil
C. Car shampoo
D. Car polish
E. Dashboard sprays

And anything else you may think of that I may have forgotten.
Cheers for your time and opinions in advance

C, D and E I would consider Autoglym stuff. Used it for years and can't fault it.

I don't understand this either - their pro range of tools are fine, they often have special offers on, they also sell quality brands (eg. Autoglym, Zymol, MegGuires (sic) etc). I work in Leeds and there's one about 100 yards from work. My lunchtimes are costing a fortune wink

By the way - waxes etc are currently 3 for 2 (in said Halfords at least) so that's worth a look. I'm considering buying 3 tubs of the Autoglym hi-def wax (£39/tub) - it'll last me years.

They're also doing BOGOF on ALL cleaning products so I bought a £9.99 Autoglym leather conditioner and got an £8.99 interior detailer free. Not bad value at all.

I can also endorse their professional range tools.

They're certainly not all bad and inevitably you get what you pay for to some degree.

Classic PH bandwagon. I find them to be very helpful when I ask them a question. I had a problem with my stereo the other week and they came out to my car and diagnosed the problem, no charge.

(1) The Halfords more expensive one is perfectly good and smells nice. if you buy the cheap one, you'll get what you paid for.
(2) Mobil - you pay for what you get.
(3) Not much wrong with some of Halfords own stuff. I use Zaino ph neutral and UV protective
(4) I use Zaino here as well. It's a long way from cheap but it's also not silly expensive and it lasts a long time. The £105 kit is quite good value IMHO.

(5) Halfords used to do a matt dash treatment in their trademark blue bottle which was very good and got good marks in an AutoExpress test. Avoid anything shiny as it looks sh*t and is inevitably full of silicon that gets onto your windows.

No charge you say?

Sounds more like a problem with your alternator than your stereo to me. fkwits!

As others have said, Halfords often do 3 for 2, BOGOFs etc on branded car care products and are fine if you don't want to use one of the mail order specialists.

My preferences...
A. Any brand
B. Mobil 1
C. Zymol Auto Wash (£6.99 at Halfords)
D. Zymol Cleaner Wax (£12.49 at Halfords)
E. Use a duster instead unless you like the shiny dash mini cab look.

A. screenwash - get one you mix up yourself, not premixed at silly prices for what is mainly water
B. Oil - Mobil 1 if your car's worth it, or any oil if you change it every 3k
C. Car shampoo - Autoglym
D. Car polish - Megulars, used to used Mer, then Autoglym but Megulars is much better I've found
E. Dashboard sprays - ArmorAll original, Cleans nicely and doesn;t make your dash all sticky and shiny

Spend some time looking at whats available via the web.....visit the detailing section on here for a guide regarding products then pop over to detaiingworld for the real lowdown.

The best e tailers for detailing products are n the web, not the highstreet.

Screenwash it must be Einszett, likewise with dashboard spray.

Its not a slant against halfords itself, that night have come out a bit harsh, just find the own brand screenwash ends up blocking the lines
