Omega Seamaster Query

Hi all.

I've just got an automatic Seamaster Chronograph for my 21st.

This is probably a stupid question and perfectly fine, but. When I move my wrist around, I hear something spinning inside. Is that just part of the automatic function, or is something loose inside.

Don't bite my head off if it's a stupid question. lol

It'll be the rotor turning, that's how the watch is powered, they are audible on a lot of automatic watches,


That said I have never heard it on my Seamaster, but mine uses a different movement to yours.

I do know people who have complained their new Auto watches are broken when left alone for a few days!

That's fair enough, doing some research it's based upon a Valjoux 7750 movement, and they are renowned for being noisy, I was surprised when I listened to my gf's watch which also is based upon that movement. That's not to say that they aren't good movements, they are amongst the best!

I've got three 7750 based watches - an Omega Aqua Terra Chronograph, a Breitling Chronomat Evo, and a Panerai Luminor Marina. Of those the Omega and the Panerai shake around like a washing machine with an unbalanced load on the spin cycle.

Nothing to worry about.
