Hi all,
Thought i would share my weekend / Track car with you.
Its a Tiger R6, manufactured by Tiger Racing. Its a 2.0 Zetec blacktop with Webcon Alpha Gold engine management, throttle bodies etc. Stock guise develops a respectful 170bhp. I purchased the car new in Sept 2009 and then in March of this year, after 500 miles, decided it needed a bit more oomph, so the head was sent away to be ported, new cams etc, pocketed pistons, replaced the stock gearbox with a Quaife box, lightweight flywheel, larger exhaust and a few other tweaks. Now shows 210bhp on Rolling Road.
Been really pleased with the car and had great service from tiger ( they are local to where i live so very convenient). I know some will ask why not a Caterham or a Westfield, but i like to be different, like the look of the R6 and love having the manufacturer close by to pop in get ideas. Weighing it at 570kg with 210 bhp, its great fun to drive
( I recorded 12.6 Standing Quater mile using an onboard GTECH performance meter, but have no idea how accurate it really is).
Anyway, hope you like...

That's really awesome, would love to have a go
Is there any chance you have a dyno readout? I would like to see the power and torque curves. If I'm not wrong it gives something like 375 bhp/tonne ?
now that's an idea. Wonder how hard that would be to do ? ( or if i'd be able to handle it !)Well, you could always turbocharge it. The engine found in the first generation Focus RS is actually a 2.0 litre Zetec Blacktop engine, even though its labeled as a Duratec, but that's Ford marketing for you.
I'm pretty sure that Cosworth developed a kit containing a supercharger for the Focus ST170, which is a Blacktop as well.
I would personally always go for supercharging as I prefer the sound and power delivery, but that's just my opinion.

So when's the supercharger being added?

Tiger gave me this after the work was done, won't claim to be qualified to fully interpret, but i am sure others can.

Bit of a dip at 4500rpm, do you notice it when driving?
I can't say i do, no. Feels like it pulls smoothly all the way, but i am concious it does not look like i would expect a typical curve to look like !AJKOK1 said:

It was down to an incorrectly designed exhaust. Are you going 4 into 1? We spoke around, optimised the primaries and secondaries and obviously went 4-2-1. You might want to ask around and see if you could borrow a different exhaust and then play with the fueling (whilst on the RR) to get the map spot on.

Thanks for your advice, that is really interesting. I will definitely investigate the exhaust suggestions. Tiger did advise it was running a bit rich, so that is worth following up too.QED87 said:
