I'm looking to buy an E46 M3 as a work car and need to know whether a built in phone was an option and if so are they any good? I previousy bought an SLK55 AMG but the phone was awful and I need to use it for hours every day. Please let me know how you've got on... Thanks.

I had a built in Motorola phone for the E46 330ci and it was nothing but a pain.

The battery in the phone had gone so it constantly drained the car battery.

I unplugged it in the end.

Carphones are outdated these days IMO.

Thanks, any other experiences? Was blue tooth available as an option?

Mine has bluetooth so just about any phone will pair. if you want voice control etc that is also an option (I have not got that) and I think you need to check the car has the latest software updates to pair to later models of phone.

Thanks, can I ask what year your car is? Do you find it works well?
