Right people... I've decided on, and got the cash together for a 535d sport...

I'm going to look at this one on Sunday : http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2010...

Now although it's listed as a trade sale, the car belongs to the dealers dad.

It's currently financed through BMW and the lease comes to an end next week so he will be buying the car outright.

He's owned it for 4 years, and brought it as an ex-demo (which I have called the supplying dealer to confirm)

It has full BMW service history. Is practically a 1 owner car. The fellow is a 50 y/old wealthy sounding fellow...

It has a lot of options - 19" wheels, heads up display, rear electric blinds, comms pack, heated front seats.

He says it has a dvd slot in the dash, but has never tried playing a DVD in it, but it doesnt have the TV tuner.

Will accept £16,250 for the car....

A ) Is at a good buy in your opinions?

B ) what shall I check when I go to see the car? anything to look out for?

Any info would be much appreciated, as I am planning on putting a deposit down if I like the car!

ETA : I meant E60 but don't know how to change the title!

The DVD slot on the E60 is purely for the SatNav disc....at least it was on mine. He is trying to pull a a fast one by implying that you might be able to play films on it. If you want the car tell him your price is subject to the DVD player working.....if not you want another £500 off.

Looks like a lot of car for the money to me.

I have a similar car (06 plate with around 70k and well specified) and it drives as new - I certainly wouldn't part with mine for £16k at the moment even if it is a fair market value - it is worth far more to me than that if you know what I mean - I'm sure it'll prove a good buy if you take the plunge...

Well today I put a deposit down on the car... will take a week or so for me to get the rest of the money together and pick the car up...

It looked in great condition... obviously very well looked after. Rear discs and pads had just been changed, fronts about a year ago with lots left.

It had the push button start, heads up display, rear window blinds, electric back window blind, rear tinted windows, communication pack, 6 disc changer, heated front seats, fully electric sports seats.

The wheels had a slight amount of laquer peelng off, but apart from that the car looked in great condition. I'll probably get them refurbished soon.

I will post pics as soon as I get the car home!

Thought it may be the case, but can it be modified or programmed to play movies?

Excellent - I'm sure you'll love it.

Budget around £300 and you'll get your wheels refurbished to a high standard - waste of time going for a £100 job in my opinion (this is probably what has led to the wheels appearing to 'peel') because the finish won't look as good or last as long.
