For GT owners - traffic updates and digital readout?

My mate's very graciously allowed me to keep his 2005 GT at my house while he is on holiday for safe keeping and he's allowed me to use if everyday if I want to.

So far I've found it a really enjoyable experience apart from the damn traffic updates which keep interrupting my CDs. Can anyone help me switch it off? My mate's mobile is switched off to stop him getting hit with roaming charges but he's left me his hotel name and number in case of emergency and I really don't want to disturb his holiday or worry him by phoning him over the traffic updates so was wondering if you guys could help me switch it off. I've tried every menu setting.

Also, is there a digital readout of the speed available anywhere on the dials, I can't seem to find one in the menus.

Have you tried looking in the glovebox. There should be a book that like tells you what switches do. It may even say owners manual on it.

just find the botton marked TP on the lower row beneath the screen. HD.
