It is pretty hard to get into, I applied when I was younger and got to the testing stage, great fun.

I knew a ATCO3 (Air Traffic Control Officer level 3, I think this is right, someone will clarify) He took me up into Manchester air traffic control, and into the tower for the air field control.

If your brother wants to be an air traffic controller, the chances are he will be based at prestwick or swanwick, Or at a airport/field.

This was a few years ago, but I have kept a fleeting interest.

There is a few on here, who I sure will help you. Try googling NATS as well. There's a lot of money to be made and a lot of stress to deal with.

Good luck to him!

I'm one of those. 'Mega money' isn't quite what my P60 says mind you, not that i'm complaining. As said, Pprune is a good source of information on the NATS selection stages, if that's what your brother is applying for. It's a long read, but he'll build a decent picture of what to expect at the various stages.

Depending on his age and willingness to live abroad, he should also consider applying to EuroControl.

Good luck to your brother, and if I can help you with anything specific, fire away.

Lovely garage by the way sonar

I am about to build an experimental workingplace for these guys,
with 3D display, another 3D touch-table display, another 22" 2D touch-table display,
another two 10" touch-table displays, spacemouse, mouse, micropohone, and....
...........a friggin cupholder as it is on the order sheet !
Man, that cupholder will be machined from cast iron,
can´t imagine what damage a spilled java will do on/in THAT table.

Presumably if he ends up in France he won't have to go to work very often... spin
