engine codes

Hello i am looking to buy a 1800 16v zetec engine to modify but dont know the engine code for it. I am wondering if anyone can help? Its out of a 1999 ford mondeo and is a black top. Im looking on the net for parts and it gives engine codes and im confused at the minute without the code.
