Don't pretty much 50% of the grid aim to win the title?

Should definitely not leave and retire gracefully, this is restoring the balance nicely so far.

Unless he's put into the fastest car on the grid and treated as number 1 driver, whilst I've got a hole in my bum he's not got a chance.

He's too old and I suspect Red Bull, Ferrari or McLaren won't go near him.

Ok, the chances of it happening are pretty slim. Although he's not going to come out and say "Im not aiming to win the title."

Bet you'd have laughed halfway through 2008 if Brawn (wasn't it Honda, then?) said "we'll win both titles next year" too?

Stranger things have happened.

Sounds like what Ferrari did last year and what good has it done them this year?

true enough, however, last year was down to a unique set of circumstances.

even if next years car is good, I think Rosburg is more likely to do the business

As I type I believe they're fastest, one and two.
The Ferrari is fast, faster than the McLaren, its just the drivers are twotting it up.
Both superfast at Silverstone.

I would have been doubtful and you're right it was totally out of the blue, although Red Bull were hot on their tails after the halfway point.

I just think Mr Schumacher should give up and accept he just doesn't have it anymore. Nico is consistently faster than his team mate and if today's free practice is anything to go by, Schumacher is 6.7 seconds off the pace on a track he knows very, very well in wet weather......which he is meant to be the master at.

If you watched it all you'd know something was fundamentally wrong with his rear wing. I love the way people just look at the numbers without engaging their brain.
2nd practice and there is not much in it.

Also, he only did 13 laps. The majority of others did over 20, some over 30.
Oh no..he's miles off the pace!
Although, i suspect he has an extra set of tyres in good condition if it rains Sat/Sun.

He has every chance.

Fittipaldi and Andretti were both still doing the business in CART well into their 50's.
CARTs hardly F1 though is it? neither andretti or Fittipaldi had the fitness at 50 to cut it at the back, let alone the front of F1 these days with the work level/rate required. Look at Sakon wotshisface at Brit GP, hes a young hot shoe and was knackered after a few laps!

i wouldnt underestimate MS as hes a wily old sod (polite version wink) but i cant see him being a regular podium placer next season and no chance this season. The Safety Car driver has more chance this season in my opinion..., in fact i reckon its more competitve than the errant Merc F1 offering although 'Britney' doesnt struggle as badly with it as 'Pops' Schumacher

Fair point (I only read the times off Pitpass).

Nico is still ahead wink

Qualifying and Sunday will be interesting and this is his chance to show those of us who aren't sure if he's got what it takes.

Much as I don't like him, I'd never write him off.

If they have the car next year, no sane person would ever say he doesn't have the talent....

Actually I'd quite like to see him do well IF and only IF, for virtually the first time in his career, he and his team-mate were given both equal equipment and equal opportunity to win.

Where in those threads do they quote today's news on Pitpass?

Errr, they don't.

Keep up if you're going to try and be clever wink
