I had my car on axle stands for a month whilst I changed the head gasket and did a few other bits of work. It's all back together and driving well but at least one brake is binding a little and the friction is causing the wheel to get heat up. I can hear it too. It's got better the more I've driven it but it's still there.

Is there a quick and easy soluition?

Cheers

Yes, take the wheels off and release the sticking brake. rolleyes

You can strip the brake assembley down, remove the caliper and give the piston a good spray with WD-40 and try and free it off, binding can cause excessive wear on the pad though so check that two. If its worn remember to replace both fronts at the same time.

Otherwise buy a new caliper but if you can change a head gasket you can free off a sticky caliper piston.

well yes thanks HellDiver, but I wasn't sure what to do when I got the wheel off and started pissing about. Managed to do the HG with the help of the trust Haynes so I'll check that out too.

Thanks for the advice Craig

Sounds a lot like a sticking piston and IMO that sort of issue really needs a proper fix rather than just a clean-up.
