newbe to Ultima g50 lsd?

Hi im looking to sell my Atom and buy an Ultima. my question is does the g50 gearbox come with a LSD fitted? thanks paul

some do. depends which model of porsche it comes out of to start with.
G50's first appeared in the 964, and there have been variations ever sice - up to the 996 model. the the G50 architecture was only used on the high end models.

not many boxes have the LSD fitted, the check is to move the shaft and see if the drive flanges go in both directions, then you have a LSD in there.

All is not lost if your dream car doesn't have LSD. I had a Quaiffe ATB diff fitted and it was one of the four best mods I did for track driving (dry sump/Kumhos/ATB/Factory track springs).

£750 ish. But I believe they might have spiraled up now....

I think the Quaiffe item is torque biasing. Correct me if I'm wrong.

£875 plus vat now, im just in the process of fitting one for a customer, very nice guys at Quaife! Lots of measurements to check on the fitment but its a quality company selling a quality product with quality back up! A lot better than some companies we could mention..... hey Mark?

Bumped into three of them at Autosport. Not on their stand either. Not a clean fingernail between them. Totally the sort of types I'd trust.

As I said, one of the best and most flattering mods I made.

Hi just to let you know Elite transmissions sell a plate type lsd for a G50 they quoted me £600. at retro race show earlier this year, and i when asked about instaling it in to the box he said another hundred would see it fitted , i had some uprated half shafts made by them for me for one of my other cars top bit of kit , i havent gone for one, as once i got used to Ultima ( driving less like miss daisy ) , its become apparent my g50 03 has one ( result ! ) this was also comfimed by checking out the gearbox numbers a 2 is stamped on the plinth after the G50 03, 1 is open diff 2 is lsd

There are at least 4 different LSD fitting options on the G50 so they must sell more than one unit as its not a guaranteed fit.
A lot of the grasstrack nutters use Elite for there weapons but ive seen quite a few go bang this year!!
