Just had a look at the ad http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2010... and correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think CAT B's were allowed back on the road and could only be broken for spares or used as a track day toy but not re-registered?

We've discussed this car before. I think the conclusion was don't touch with 2 barge-polls lashed together.

Category B Insurance Write Off - the vehicle must not be used again but non- structural and roadworthy parts and components may be recovered for use in other vehicles. Care must be taken to ensure that they are not critical components with important safety functions. Again there are several online companies who will offer significant amounts of money for Category B Insurance Write Off vehicles.

I have to say... what is going on with those exhausts??? really not a fan.

Also, why does it say GTO'3'? looking at the engine it looks like a 2.5.

@ 19k it isn't cheap is it!

James

p.s. i'm usually very positive, that post sounds very negative doesn't it!

your right. But i dont think you have to even look that deep it does state that its a 2.5.
The seller clearly doesn't have a clue

wow that is a real mish mash ...

The exhausts are hurl ..

The rear says it is a 3, so maybe it is and the dealer has put 2.5L in the info incorrectly. However the wheels say 3R - which it is definately not.

However the filter is behind the cabin - is this only on the 2.5?

Well i've contacted them only via email was late yesterday so they might of been closed, just wanted to get full story of the car.

Something just don't add up with the advert though, if your going to advertise something for sale then you've got to get the details correct even if you don't know that much about them.

Begining to think some sort of scam!!

Exhausts are not my taste either (putting it mildly). It's badged as a 3, has 3R wheels but has a 2.5 engine for sure (going by the manifold).

The car doesn't look too bad , nice colour wheels look good interior looks like a good combination.

So why the hell would somebody be so stupid as to make tailpipes like.

I think if the car were OK to buy as in it's a misprint and it was a mild cat d, you'd have to trailer it home covered up so that nobody saw them tailpipes.

DVLA have informed me that B is not roadworthy.

C is repairable but will need a VIC check before it goes on the road, it's just down to the insurance company decided that its too expensive for them to repair but can be done by somebody else but will always be registered

Sure this is the second cat B Noble to come on the market in the last few months. Just been having a quick look through my history, but can't find it.

The company selling it was called something like Carz, remember it had a Z in the title, but it was a 3R.

Adise......wouldn't touch it, even with Phils pole hehe

Think it was Mr Carz selling the other, pretty sure that did not sell either.

Would like to know how this works if B is not allowed then surely it can't have mot tax even a roadworthy logbook because it can not be registered with a number.

Shame looks nice in the colour just not from the back!vomit
