I have just ripped the badge off the back of my wifes car whilst washing it. It appeared to have been held on with a "rubbery" silicone type adhesive. What is the correct product for glueing the badge back on?

Thanks.

Black silicone adhesive, or if you want it less permanent trim a rear view mirror adhesive pad to fit.

Excellent, thanks. I had some Loctite in the shed that did the job well.

3M do a double sided foam trim tape specifically for sticking badges back on, but you'll need to clean off the old residue from both the badge and the car.
Good luck trying to use "silicone adhesive", you'll get in a right mess and its a bugger to clean off. I assume you meant something like Tigerseal or Sikkaflex, as obviously there is no such product as silicone adhesive, even if there was, there isnt a bodyshop in the land that would use it...

Funny that, I got the tube that's sat in my garage from a bodyshop. No such product as silicone adhesive? I'd suggest you put the crack pipe down and use google. It's a piece of cake to get off btw. Ask me how I know...

And yes, silicone adhesive is a general term for a silicone based adhesive, as opposed to a brand name like Tigerseal or Silkkaflex, which are both polyurethane adhesives and FAR more permanent.
