Tomtom One XL & Blackberry 8100 & Vodafone?

Hi All,
I have a Tomtom One XL. I'd like to put Tomtom Traffic on it as it would come in pretty handy driving through France next week.
It needs a mobile with GPRS service to connect.
I have a Blackberry Pearl which runs under GPRS. Should this just work? I know I can get data on the phone (ie, I can surf the web, etc), but I don't know if I can use it as a tethered service for the Tomtom. Does anyone know how I can find out? It's a work phone, and I won't be there to ask them before I leave!
Obviously I could just shell out £35 to Tomtom then give it a try, but I'd rather not waste the cash if I can help it!!!!
