Actual Sagaris Top Speed
Discussion
I know TVR used to quote things like 185+ and such like for the top speed of their cars, in fact with the Tuscan they even quoted 195+ (yeah, right), anyway, just wondered what is the highest actual speed any of us petrolheads have witnessed in a Sagaris...? I would've thought that the rear spoiler would seriously hamper any major full on assault.
I'll kick off with a pretty lame 167mph.......

167 isn't lame at all. Assuming that's GPS verified.
I didn't have the nerve to go over 140 in mine, such was the level of bonnet wobble.
But it had definitely started slowing up by then. A genuine 170 would be a very good speed for a Sagaris.
The whole idea of the car was to trade some of the Tuscan's top speed for greater stability. For 99 per cent of people, 99 per cent of the time, that's a good trade off.
I now have a Tuscan and co-incidentally have also managed no more than 140 in it. But that was because there was an M5 in the way!

176 GPS verified. Standard car.
If you would have made a slight change to the spoiler it would have made a decent difference.Graham V has made his spolier slightly shorter and made mine even shorter and it makes a real world difference espcially when you lift off. I will post some pics up when I get a chance and am any where near my car.
Actually, I'm glad you mentioned the diff. How can you tell what diff the car has, if you don't have the original build sheet?
Also, what is the other 'fast' option? I'm sure the two fast options that I had on my old Tuscan was some kinda super-diff and a quick shift box or something....

two ways to work it out, the main one is to look at the diff housing and it will have a sticker and plate on it saying what it is.
The second is the speed versus the revs you are doing in certain gears. Someone will be along soon and send you a link to the page.
I changed my diff and the difference is great. As you say the other option is a low ratio gear box.
If you change the final drive ratio on your diff thought you will reduce your top speed. I went from a 3.5 to a 3.7 I now have a 3.08 but would really like a longer ratio.

Link to open up MR G's spreadsheet to work out what gearbox diff combo anyone has that is unsure.
When is peak power in a 4.0 S6 I think I short shift a little early in to each gear but dont want to over rev it ?
