But more to the point, where does an economics student get 500 quid to waste on a bottle of beer? Or am I living in the past where students struggled to make ends meet.

I`ve never heard of Advocates for Animals, but this company sold £6000 of overpriced beer in 4 hours.. Who knows the most about marketing I wonder...
