Range Rover LSE LPG Conversion
Discussion
I searched and no luck, so sorry if a repeat.
The LSE is running very heavy on petrol. I'm not even going to tell you how much I'm spending per mile. I wonder if anyone can give me any advice/point me in the right direction...
I do not want a tank in my boot (I need the space) and the option of having tanks in the sills at the rear is a no go as I'm running the air suspension units so they won't fit.
Ideally I'd like to keep the petrol tank as well (I just can't imagine that I'm always going to find an LPG garage abroad).
I have been in contact with Prins who said they would be unable to do it. They put me in touch with someone else who told me that I could use a torpedo (I think that's what they called it) tank in replacement for the spare wheel, but that I'd also need a second tank situated on the opposite side of the boot as the torpedoes are only 70 (again, I think) ltrs capacity.
Has anyone had anything like this? Or could somebody recommend any other LPG converters?
Many thanks.

My dad had a donut in place of the spare wheel and 1 torpedo under the car on his air spring classic. Seem to remember that it took about 115 litres to fill. The boot was about 1 1/2" narrower with the tank (he had to load cover narrowed.
Nene Overland did the conversion. It used more oil running on lpg and did feel less urgent when pulling away, but Rpi engineering supposedly have chips to fix that.
Over 40,000 miles there were 3 issues with the pressure release valve, preventing you from filling up.

PF I have an LSE with gas.
There are 2 40 litre tanks in place of the old petrol tank and a smaller (35L)petrol tank behind the wing by the filler.
Mine is an older conversion done in 2003 so single point. It was done in High Wycombe -Stako tanks I think.
There is no visible tank - boot remains a boot.
Happy to dig out any more details if you need them. The conversion will have come along a bit by now but I'm sure there is still the option.

I bought a 94 Vogue SE Soft dash last year already LPG converted. Having used LPG vehicles previously (single point 2000 on) I knew what to expect. Mine has a sequential conversion with one tank in boot. At the time didn't realise it was multipoint, there was a receipt for single point conversion in 2000.
It was only after driving it 100 miles home and realising how well and smooth it ran on gas had proper look and saw it was multipoint!! I have done about 10,000 miles since purchase and have had no problems as yet, I tow a trailer and my caravan so it earns it's keep. LPG range not really good enough at moment but we are okay for LPG round by us so not a problem. Car appears to have been run on gas for most of it's life and appears to have no ill effects with 142,000 miles on clock. Difficult to tell exact history as was bereavement sale and some paperwork had been mislaid. Appears to do about 14-15 mpg on gas locally and about 18-19mpg on a run. At 50 odd pence per litre I'm not complaining!!!
