Boot release on Tamora

Mine's gone kaput. Not the fuse as the stereo is still working, and I think a washer popped out.

How do I get to the mechanism; I assume that I have to remove the carpeting in the boot and get to it somehow that way.

Oh yeah - bloody hydraulic strut on the boot broke off yesterday too! Anyone know if I can just buy the top bracket (on the lid) and the strut?

PS I DO know how to get into the boot; just asking how to get to the mechanism to fix it.

Is it the button that has failed or the lock mechanism? if you unplug the door Passanger side ECU and re-connect it should pop the boot open. If its the boot button, there is a carpet flap under the light so you can get access to the two nuts that hold the assembly together.

Racetech have the hinges, You can buy them as left or right side but not as upper/lower parts. I have seen them on their website

Thanks Andy. I'm pretty sure that it is the mechanism as I found a washer hanging half out from behind the button.

I'll have a look at the website for the hinges.

Well, TVR engineering at its best!

The washer that I found had fallen out was araldited to the push plate (the Tamora badge) and gave enough additional width to depress the button/switch. So all I had to do was re-stick the washer.
