Some good ones and some I disagree with. What do you lot make of this?

It's an "MSN Cars List" so I'm 99% sure it will have been knocked up by an office junior with only passing knowlege of cars, during his tea break. It will take ages to load each page, and after 50 pages of poorly thought out nonsense I will have lost the will to live.

I have not clicked the link.

A good list, especially if you read each justification.

Where can I buy an Espace F1?

Did I just say that out loud?

Yes, I know the pages take ages to load, but I've recently upgraded my PC so felt adventurous biggrin

Reasonably good article. It has lots of the understated German stuff which I like and doesn't forget the "only we on PH are clever enough to remember the Mazda 3 and 6 MPS" models.

Not a bad list for once.

And I had to smile at the inclusion of "a rental car". hehe

Edit: I was surprised to see the Golf VR6 chosen over the Corrado VR6 though. The latter was lighter, more powerful and much faster / more accelerative.

Yes, I thought "they won't have a 6 MPS in there" but they did. smile

You can't have a list of discreet performance cars without some sort of clio sport. 0-60 in under 7 seconds from something that to most people is just a clio.

you answered your own question there, the corrado is a future classic and far more sought after than the golf

the golf vr6 is just a golf with a big engine

Their Thema 8.32 is an LX and their Polo G40 is a Coupe S. And as for this '300SEL 6.3':

[/pedant] off, I've seen enough, it's like shooting fish. Though I am surprised it's not a more disgraceful office-junior style article.

It IS just a Clio - Why do people insist on deifying performance versions of ordinary cars?

In the same way that an XJR is just an XJ? I don't follow what you mean. A clio sport is a discreet performance car.

In absolutely the same way... Unless you're talking about an XJR9 or a mid-engined Clio V6.

They are undoubtedly more drive focussed and better performing than a 1.4 diesel, but they're still Clios, rather than, for example, Renault Spyders or Ferrari F458s...

Nothing _wrong_, I hasten to add, with a fast Clio, but it IS a modified version of the same car Nicole drives...
