I've been toying with the idea of buying a 100HP Panda for a good while now and decided at the weekend to bite the bullet and go buy one. 6 months ago, there were loads of pre-reg cars available for the £8.5k mark in Fiat dealers all over the place. Now that I want to go ahead, I can't find one anywhere!!

My local dealer tells me theres none in the country. Can this be true???

Theres a few in the classifieds with fairly low mileage, but they seem to hang on to their value so for a few extra quid, it makes sense to buy a new/pre-reg car.

My only stipulation is that it must be grey!

Can anyone please point me in the direction of where I might find one?

You'll need to be quick, they're, apparently, out of production.

If you are still looking then there are several sat in the docks waiting for a new home smile

Contact your local friendly, if slightly clueless Fiat dealer!

Just an update for those interested....

Decided against the 100HP in the end. Too small for my needs I'm afraid. Had a long drive in one and the centre console dug into my left knee and the B-pillar was against my shoulder. Damn good fun little car, just not for me.

Off to buy a used Alfa 147 GTA for the weekend and find something else to replace my ageing 155 1.8 to use as a daily hack.

Wish me luck!

I'll add an update as well!

After ordering the car last week and it expecting it this week after being shipped from 'storage', it now turns out there was an "error" and it will now be a factory order. Perfect!

Fiat dealers.

You have my sympathies. I can't comment on them all as I've only used two dealers in my area, but they've both been utterly incompetent, not to mention hideously expensive.

Shame, as Alfa seem to have kicked their dealerships into touch, certainly in this part of the world anyway. Shame Fiat couldn't follow suit. They're building some pretty good cars these days too.

You not worried that the factory order won't materialise as they've apparently stopped building the 100HP?

I am a little worried but I did ask the salesman and he said he hadn't heard of the apparent cease of production on October. The order has gone through the system so I guess only time will tell now! I'm out of the country for a few months so tbh I havnt lost a great deal by the delay.

All this talk of Panda's got me thinking. Have now just taken delivery of a lovely Carboni Black '59 plate with 463 miles on the clock for a shade over £8k, looks like they want rid of them.
