When did blowing your nose...
Discussion
Into the air become rmeotely acceptable?
Cycling into work the other day and a pedestrian walking in the oposite direction just shuts one nostril with his thumb and blows...
Disgusting! I think to myself and wondered how completely not mindful of people around you, you must be to do something like this.
Then, last friday cycling behind another cyclist (not too close luckily) when he does exactly the same manevure (then wipes whatever got stuck to his hand on his ass)
Had i been any closer behind him I'd probably just push him off his bike.. that is after i finished puking...
Please tell me that never happens and i was just unlucky to see the only two pigs like this on the planet, because I find that thoroughly disguisting and would rather see people s
tting on street corners (not that i find that acceptable either) than blowing their noses into air like that...

I can only presume they have a built up of mucus and can't be arsed to pull over a blow properly.

Doesn't make it socially acceptable though. It's revolting. Much in the same way as spitting.I think it boils down to the fact that we're a multi-cultural country now. With different cultures come different forms of behaviour.

Footballers.
You're right. Footballers are literally the only people who have ever done this. Ever.Long-distance runners are well known for stopping to pull out a handy-pack of tissues when they feel a nasal obstruction. They then tend to hunt around for a recycling bin, to make sure that their mucus is deposited appropriately.
Feel free to slate footballers all you like (as I'm no great fan of the cretins), but you make yourself look a little bit silly when you're making up reasons to dislike them.

That is vile behaviour.
Sniffing isn't much better. I've been known to offer complete strangers tissues as I find sniffing just disgusting.
Yes, sniffing really is disgraceful. You should be aiming for a full-on snort, culminating in that grating sound as you drag the jolly mess down the back of your throat.Sniffing isn't much better. I've been known to offer complete strangers tissues as I find sniffing just disgusting.
You can't beat bellowing a full bellyfull of aborted mucus into the toilet bowl following a successful day's snorting.
Sniffing? Pah.
I do this regularly when I'm out on my bike or running. I did a race yesterday and people were doing it all the time. I wasn't going to pull a tissue out of my trisuit to clear my nose of the Serpentine. When training I'm usually dripping sweat everywhere, so a bit of snot isn't going to hurt.
Granted I wouldn't dream of it when not in 'exercise' mode (and outdoors), but why do you think it is acceptable to push another cyclist off his bike for it? Do you go around pushing people over who spit on the floor? 2 wrongs and all that...

Seeing as I was behind him and if I were any closer the mucus would have landed on me, I would rage, push him off his bike, feel slightly better, then hurry to leave the scene before that big bGranted I wouldn't dream of it when not in 'exercise' mode (and outdoors), but why do you think it is acceptable to push another cyclist off his bike for it? Yes it's disgusting. But you'd rather see people s

Yes, because I would nto be in danger of having it land on me.
t in the street, seriously?
I doubt someone actually aimed their nostril at you and fired.
I'd rather not see either, but if I was given the choice I'd choose seeing someone snot shoot than s
t.
