Fun car for someone I know
Discussion
Someone who likes cars a lot is looking for a fun car, preferably a convertible, preferably noisy and about 8/10 on the lairy-ness scale.
they would be part/x their gallardo and the budget would be round about 150k.
Ideas please.
So Far I came up wtih an SLS, though he quickly compared it to chrysler crossfire and ruined SLS for me now.
I suggested Alfa 8C, but he is not a fan
Audi R8 spyder sounds like the ticket but he is afraid it does not look lairy enough in the flesh.

Nearly new Murcielago?
The R8 Spyder is indeed rather on the refined side, but it is a phenomenally capable car.
Does he like classics? You could get something hugely lary with a modern power output and 1960s suspension. That should put hairs on his chest. Original (1960s) Griffith with FIA papers and some change?
How much do Caterham Levantes go for? They must be north of £100k.
Porsche 911 GT2?

Just a thought, but I'm not sure that someone who doesn't know what they want should be throwing £150k at a car! Historically, when I've not been sure what I want, I don't end up liking the car I end up buying too much, and at £150k, depreciation could be a hefty hit for him. If I was him, I'd buy something a lot cheaper (like a Tuscan S, Caterham R500 or lightly used Porsche 997 GT3), and spend the change on something else, or lob the remainding money in the bank until he really falls for a car. I think a Tuscan S, R500 or 997 GT3 is enough for his requirements, and I'd take some more time off work with the money I'd saved, maybe to do a few track days.
