Very clever. Wonder how long before that gets tried in the Prem?

There is a clip of Jimmy Greave doing similar in the 60's

Actually, I've got a feeling he hit it wide/onto the post.....

Was the oppo complaining about the kick? biggrin

Wonder if he would do the same if they were 1.0 down in the last minute. 2:0 up and not a lot to lose by trying something fun.

Was a nice take though

Sorry, soccer philistine here, but what was so special? Someone gets fouled in the penalty area, they are awarded a penalty, and the bloke successfully kicks it past the goalie into the net, thereby scoring a goal.

Isn't that usually the plan? confused

Didn't you watch the actual kick.

Everything about the way he ran up to the ball would appear that he was going to wallop it with his right foot.......

Ah, I didn't look that closely, sneaky stuff. I was expecting a pink elephant to appear or something similarly obvious. hehe

Everyone should do that (but only randomly, otherwise the goalie will know they're going to do it). wink

Correct me if I'm wrong but I get the feeling you're not big on footie Muzzlehatch?

The clue is in my first sentence... "soccer philistine here" wink

Mind you, I was in the 1st XI at prep school in 1986, but that was probably because there were only 12 of us in my year, and the other chap had no legs and a stumpy arm.

Meh...it was in training not a match. A competition for best online penalty sounds fun though!

(Dr.) Socrates' penalties are the ones I remember most fondly as a child from the 80's:

Brilliantly executed free kick. Looks ominour for the rest of the world for the next 10-15 years after the world cup and this u19 tournament. These young Spaniards already seem to have the swagger but also the skill, touch and technique to match.
