Every day now i'm getting about 20-30 hits a day with email with virus attachments. they arent from anyone in partiucualr just seem to be the usual ones. Hi, your details, something for you, that kind of thing. They have virus atatchments that NAV allways picks up but it is still very annoying. ANywa I can stop it or will I need to change my email address? if I do change my address will it stop then?

Not a lot u can do beyond either don't open the E-Mails or make sure the AV can kill them on the way through. Unfortunetly the fault lies elsewhere. Not even probably with the senders address. These are being taken from the address book of the original infected User and then sent to anybody who's address it has picked up along the way. One got theu to me but My Firewall picked up the attempted transmissions. Manually updated AV and since then No troubles.

As telecat said most of the email senders a innocent by-standers, its the virus that rips off their address book.

However some are sent maliciously. To avoid confirming your address as valid use mailwasher (www.mailwasher.net) or disable the preview plane in your mail client. There's a '?feature?' in outlook that sends delivery confirmation as soon as the message is previewed and not read as you would expect.
