I have two varieties: Allium flatunenses (Gladiator) and Allium christophii (Star of Persia).

Attractive plants for an informal border in full sun, and they attract *lots* of bees. Sow now, though bear in mind that alliums from seed won't flower for 2 - 3 years.

PM me if you want some seeds. I'll post them out to you.

For 'local' (Surrey) PHers, I also have Verbena bonariensis, which self-seed, attract lots of pollinating insects and add height to sunny borders. PM and I'll pot some up for you.

Nothing expected in return: I simply love these plants and want other people to have them too. smile

I'm too slow but you may have inspired me to get some locally, I remember seeing some at Alnwick Castle last year and told myself they would enhance the garden, the bee thing is another welcome bonus.

Do. They're attractive plants in any informal border.

Here they're planted with Mediterranean herbs with a low, spreading habit, and ornamental grasses. Plus a few solar 'border balls' placed among them:

Seeds arrived today thanks! They're like zulus. Thousands of 'em!

Can't wait to kick them off next year.
