318d chpping

Was looking for a newish 320d but BMW dealers don't seem to have a huge amount of stock at the moment. As there are plenty of 318d though I've started looking at some of the chip upgrades available.

Anyone had any experiences (good or bad) of chipping 4 cylinder diesels?

You'd get good results from either a tuning box (good) or a remap (better)

Having said that, why not do a national search on BMW's website and travel a bit for the car you want?

plenty of decents remaps about...e-maps & DMS are both well know and seemt o have no problems.

177BHP 320d is probably plenty fast enough anyway without risking warranty.

I would definitely search long and hard for a 320d in budget, over a 318d

I have changed a Z4M roadster to a 177PS 320d coupe auto .... I am finding the level of power fine - it's not like I had but is quite a good compromise between power and economy. I may remap but am not bothered and have 18 months warranty left to consider !!
