It's "grating" not "grateing", so perhaps criticise other peoples use of English when you have grasped it yourself.As you were.

The people in question appear to be able to speak the rest of the language well enough, I just don't understand why this trend of saying 'for sure' all the time has become so popular. I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't so prolific, but you sometimes hear it 3 or 4 times in a sentence.johnaachen said:

I changed that about four times aswell, you know when you look at a word and you know it's right, but it doesn't look right so you change it. Anyhow, I concede the point that nobody is perfect, but this trend still get's on my nerves.WildCards said:

Listen to interviews with racing drivers going back at least 30 years and you will hear it.
The drivers discuss using this phrase amongst others in their meetings and then go ahead and poke fun at the fans.....
Time the interviewers fought back with a few choice phrases of their own, about how badly many of today's drivers actually fail to give the fans a decent intelligent answer. We want facts and scientific responses to questions for sure.....
