My new camera...
Discussion
I was given an AE-1 and an amazing F1 by my grandfather. I love the retro look and feel, it really makes you appriciate photography as you are slowed down and made to think about every shot.
Although the F1 with its power winder will demolish a roll of film with ease in less than 10s

I had an AE-1 and an AV-1 (both were my fathers). Cracking cameras, and it was those, along with a few others (Chinon CM3, Zenit TTL) that got me started in photography.
you had two dads... and they were both Canon Cameras....

Well, my new old camera.
I have no clue about old cameras or their accessories, but I got my hands on this lot the other day for next to nothing. Don't know if its actually worth anything or not, but i think it'll be a nice ornament for when I redocorate my room 'studio style'.
Great idea to decorate a room with great stuff like that, I have a non-functioning Nikon F4 although it does not look as retro as that.I have no clue about old cameras or their accessories, but I got my hands on this lot the other day for next to nothing. Dad had setup a darkroom in the back of the garage, we used to roll our own 35mm B&W for processing at home. He decided that he wanted the AE1 for colour work, the AV1 for B&W. 10 years old, rolling my own film, developing my own pictures. Remembering that reminds of just how much I used to know about photography, and how much I've forgotten over the years.
First camera that was bought for me was manual focus, no through the lens, and I had a rangefinder attachment on the top ..... those were the days. Digital has made it all way too easy.

Do any of you still use film professionally, or has everyone switched to digital now?
When a D70 arrived in August 2004 it was a sudden and strange realisation that my F70 had instantly joined T. Rex, Piltdown Man and the dodo in the cupboard of history. The first DSLR photo I took was of the F70, and the last film frame I took was a photo of the D70... quite poetic really...Blukoo said:
