Does anyone know how much room there is at the drop off points for departures at Luton? My daughter is flying out early Saturday week but I have to go to Silverstone so was going to drop her off on the way. The problem is I'll have a car trailer in tow so don't want to get fked up if there are any width or length restrictions. I've just looked at a basic map on the web and it looks tight.

Make sure you've got a pound coin to get out again or you'll be stuck. Unless of course you drop her off before you enter the drop off area.

Are they barriers and do you know the width, will a 7' 6" wide trailer fit?

You might be better off in the mid-term car park and take advantage of the one hour free parking for dropping people off. Only a couple of min on the bus to the terminal, and there always seems much more room through the barriers than in the £1 for 10 min drop off zone.

I'd drop her off outside the area - it'll be no more than a couple of minutes walk to the terminal.

An alternative worth considering would be to drop her off at Luton Airport Parkway railway station. It's a bit over a mile from the terminal but there's a fleet of shuttle busses running every five or ten minutes which for the princely sum of £1 will drop her off right in front of the terminal. Parkway is dead easy to get into from the M1 as well so should prove no problem for a car trailer.
