track day prezzie

My daughters have bought me a trackday prezzie for my recent birthday,driving a TVR Tuscan,as anyone been on one of these days before, what can I expect?

Who with and where?

If its the usual suspects, you're in for the treat of your life...The only downside, is you'll be selling your sproggs to buy a tiv afterwards
But i see you already have one, which means you will be re-mortgaging the house to afford the 24+ trackdays a year

My wife and kids did the same for me a couple of years ago.
Mine was a classic sports car day thought and so I got to drive a variety of old Jags and AM's
It was a short class room "how to drive on a track" then I think it was 4 laps in each model.
Very enjoyable day.

If it is with Topcats you will love it.

They look after you well and even if you have not been on track before it is not a problem.

If it's with Drivers' Dream Days, I did the same at Bruntingthorpe and bought a T350 as a direct result so be careful...

One of the nice things is that compared to some of the other vehicles available on days like these, the Tuscan is comparatively cheap so if the instructor has some confidence in you he'll let you rag it a little more that those driving Lambos and Ferraris.

One thing to bear in mind - if it is someone like DDD or Everyman, don't expect to be one of a select few drivers - on the days that I've done there are loads and loads of people there to drive and / or spectate and the track can get quite congested at times.

Either way, have a great day but be prepared for the inevitable addition to the garage soon afterwards
