Taking the £400 Merc to Ireland for some well needed R&R, it's plates are the old style without a country code, do I need a Gb sticker?
Also any Irish PH'ers out there care to give me a current price for unleaded?

If you're a Brit over there, I think you need someone to walk in front with a red flag...

Might be wrong, mind...

Edit..

Remember, drive on the left...

Also, stick an England flag on. They'll love it.

Yup and Leprechauns throwing stones from the precariously stacked walls to either side (at least that's what my father used to claim when I was 8)

I never have and have seen very very few cars from the north with GB stickers when in the South. As if some Nationalist from the Bogside is going to stick GB stickers on actually.

Yeah your fine without!

Cant help with petrol but last time I was over about two months ago it was pretty much the same as the mainland.

the price of unleaded is around (euro) 1.27-1.35 per litre, just depends on what county your in,
big city's and big towns usually cheapest, small country villages can be quite extortionate though!
wouldn't bother with the GB sticker but might not be a bad idea because a lot of British cars get stopped buy the customs
looking to catch Irish residents and nail them for VRT!!!frown

www.pumps.ie for the fuel prices, if there's a GB on your (Big Yellow) reg plate (which is a pretty big giveaway anyways), then you don't need a GB sticker. The powers that be have enough trouble tracking down Irish drivers on undeclared UK imports to be worrying about tourists...

Doing the same myself on Sat morning.

No GB plate needed as they are fairly relaxed over there.

However, don't bring your snooper/radar detector as they are illegal there.

Also, beware speeding as they have a telephone number regularly signposted inviting drivers to report speeders!

Some of the new motorways are toll so keep a few euros handy and bring your insurance cert as it will be helpful if you get stopped.
