Hello all,

Colleague of mine has recieved an NIP addressed to him by name but at his place of work.
He'd got a hire car out last month and Blunderside (Humberside) police sent the initial NIP to the car hire company. Offence was at the beginning of Feb (he was hammering along at 47 on a 40MPH slip road leading to the A63 Dual carriageway, and adjusting his speed to match the traffic!)
Anyway, as I and indeed thousands more motorsits who have been caught by this damn talivan might sympathise, does anyone have any suggestions?
By the way, to save you ringing them up, they kindly supply a FAQ in with the NIP of which most of the answers are NO.
Can I see the evidence - NO
Can I contest it - YES but you'll be fined more.
I could get it and scan it if anyone's intersted!
quite a fun read.

Basicaly my advice was - and if anyone could amment/add he would appreciate it.

6 month limit to prosecute.
Bin the NIP he's recieved.
28 day period runs out some time the end of April,
(initial NIP was within 14 days by the way)
It may then dissapear into the ether.
if it doesn't. they'll likely send another NIP with a letter perhaps, with another 28 days on it. This won't be until abuot 2 weeks after the expirey. This takes us to about 10th May
Wait till near the end of expirey, then say you can't remember who was driving (4 of them), can we view the photo.
And basically just keep stalling until the 6 months is up, and if they pressure for it, simply nominate everyone in the car

Any thoughts?
