In need of a Cerbera

Hi to u all,

I'm a newbie to this forum, but I have been reading these posts about Cerberas for the last 6 months. I have to say this forum in exellent and very helpfull. So down to business (please excuse my spelling and choise of words, english isn't my native language).

I have been looking though classifieds every day (many times per day) and found many good one's for sale. Problem is that I have to sell my previos car first, Mrs said that I have to loose old one first then I can buy an another one. I did put my car on sale here in PH:

I would even swap my Chevy head to head for cheaper Cerbera.

I'm loosing my sleep 'cause I'm only thinking about having a Cerbera. My brother tells my to buy a Porche 911 (nice cars), but I want a car with some b*lls.
There aren't any Cerberas for sale in my home country, that makes this deal so difficult.
I don't know if this post makes any sence or not.

I bet there are not many TVR's at all for sale in Finland?

What sort of budget are you allowing yourself? Cerbera's do take a lot of looking after. My only concern is that the technical back up and expertise that often gets us out of a hole in this country and to some extent in other European countries might not be available to you over in Finland.

I might be wrong and I am sure you will tell me if I am. How good are you on the mechanical/ engine/ electrical side of things? I guess, looking at your current car that you are selling, you might do quite a bit of the work yourself?

As an aside, Porsche 911 vs TVR Cerbera- totally different cars. Have you ever driven a TVR or had a ride in one? If not- I would thoroughly recommend that you invest some time in coming over to the UK and having a look at some cars before you take the plunge and buy one over the Internet. Most people who are looking to buy a Cerbera also have in mind either a Speed 6 Engine or one of the V8's. I don't know what your thought's are on this.

I am sure there are plenty of us on this forum who would be more than happy for you to have a look around our cars whether they are for sale or not to help you in your decision making process should you be in the UK sometime.

I absolutely love my car, but due to my lack of skills with a spanner, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of owning and running one if I wasn't UK based.

I think here in Finland is only a handful of TVR cars (older ones), but no Cerberas. For a testdrive I should fly there to do it.
I can do all the spannering myself (I was born with a spanner ). To be honest the electric side has had me worried also, but I have a electricwizard as a workmate who is very helpfull (I work in a local Volvo dealership at service dept. as a foreman).
We have loooong and cold winters up here so there are many months to upgrade/maintain our cars. Our normal driving season start att end of April and last (if we are lucky) to September.
I have figured to spend so much money on the Cerbera as it needs.

I asked one of the well known specialists to find me one and do eall the necessary things.
you just have to pay for it...
I recommand you to do the same.

when i bought my cerb, i just picked her up from the ship (overhere in Belgium).

so, i had never been driving a cerb before i bought one.
and to be honest, if you are grown up and you use your brains, no problems at all.
so, fly if you like but... i didn't

You have to think about the registration procedure.
Thing is there is no COC just the V5, and there is not much info on it.
this means that you need very likely some additional official information.
If i would be you, i would check what kind of documents or information i would need in Finland.
You dont want to end up with a cerb which cant be registered...
