Car specific number plates
Discussion
Does anyone else get annoyed by certain car specific number plates?
I saw a TVR at the weekend in the Cotswolds, Nxxx TVR. Nice car, good number plate in my opinion.
Then I saw two cars subsequent to that, a Ford Ka with the number plate Kxxx KA and a BMW 3 series touring with the number plate xx06 BMW. These annoyed me.
Am I irrational?

It seems odd to approve of a TVR plate but dislike a BMW one. Personally I find them all rather laughable but everyone's entitled to spend their money however they see fit.
The whole concept is baffling - even if the entire plate spells the make/model (and mostly they don't) it's not really telling anyone anything they didn't already know or couldn't ascertain simply by looking at the mannufacturer's badging.

None of the badges on my car actually tell you what model it is.I have a car related plate on my car and I like it. It cost less than £100 to sort out and means that the plate is no longer age related (useful as the body of the car has not changed throughout it's whole life cycle) and makes it slightly more unique in my opinion.
Each to their own though. Why does anyone spend any money changing anything on their car?

Why would anyone do such a thing?

The chap I bought the car from wanted his plate back, so I put my old TVR plate on as it would need re-retaining soon anyway.
