Can anyone tell me what time the traffic dies down on
the roads into St Tropez We are thinking of going into town tomorrow afternoon/evening to have a meal in the Port, a few drinks in the Cafe de Paris and a look around the fantastic floating gin palaces

Thanks

if I recall ( it is a while back now) but you shouldnt have any trouble after about 5 or 6 pm. Obviously pushing the boat out as it were financially then with drinks and a meal around the port.....
It is fun though watching the people on the boats they cant afford to take out of the habour sitting on their rear decks watching us watching them......

Take the boat from ste maxime.

Expensive, but much better fun.

It was still certainly pretty busy around 4-5pm last year later in the season. Absolute nightmare on the way in the in the morning though, every single mile was at minimal speed!

Last August by any chance? I took a trip from Roquebrune on a bus that went over the hills then caught a boat across the bay to St Trop (skippered by the bloke who took THE Diana and Dodi photo). The coast road had been blocked by an accident. I did Monaco later in the week taking the train from St Raphael.
