Currently have Pilot Primacy's which, are utter tripe at the best of times. (Its a new car, they came with it)
In September I'm going to treat myself to some new rubber. But im not set on which tyres I want.
My standard width is 195/50/16 and I want to go to 205/45/16.
I'd origionally thought about R888's or a similar sort of tyre but apparantly they wear un-evenly, are noisy and would be a bit overkill for my car.
So, I have narrowed my choices down to;
Hankook V12 evo's (My Main Choice)
F1 GSD3's (Aysemmetrics not available in my size I don't think)
Contisport 2's
Any ideas what I should go for?
Any other tyres worth looking at?
FYI - I'm not bothered about price and how fast they wear. I will replace them as needed.
Thanks.

i have no idea what current models they do but i thought vredestein ultrac something or others were pretty good all rounders for my MCS.
you could look at something like the Potenza re050a (but there seem to be a million and one versions of tyres like this as in the lexus version, the toyota version etc etc. the specific code number seems to be relevant).
i have got a pair of falken 452s and they seem very good for the money although personally i don't think they're as good as things that cost twice as much...

i was guessing something quite mainstream and fwd...
Shirly not the Clio in profile. They don't fit 16" rims to Clios now do they!?my wife's migraine diseasel 1.9 130bhp thing has 205 50 (or 45)16s
btw personlly i wouldn't fit wider tyres than manfacturer specifies.
Vredistein Ultrac Sessanta is definately worth a look. These are probably about on a par with the Hankook tyres that you have picked out (which I would also recommend as they too have rave reviews)
If you want to go mail order for them, the Vredistein tyres were a bit cheaper than the Hankook ones when I last looked on the Camskill website although I was looking at 18" versions so the prices could well be different on a 16" rim.
Worth a look though.

I honestly thought they'd abandonded the GSD3s, and entirely replaced by the Asym's
I bet you thought they had stopped the GSD2 as well!Edited by Tonsko on Wednesday 28th July 14:44

I know I did! It's all down to sizes it seems as to which styles are available.

I'm wondering, because it's related to size of tyre, as to whether these are just left over stock from the less popular tyre sizes.

Well after I swore blind someone would never get a set. And they did. I also swore blind they would be old stock. And they were only something like 3 months old. Then I just swore and had to accept I was wrong.Stupid goodyear! Making me look silly. (I swear by Dunlop now;) )
Anyway for the OP I'd go for the latest ContiSports. I think Mr J Plato said he has them on all his cars.
