Steering Wheel Not Straight On MY XFR

Ive not used the XFR much as I have a new "summer" car but when in it after a 2 week lay off I noticed the steering wheel is ever so slightly off noon at straight ahead.
Its 101% not been kerbed, it runs true / straight but follows camber as it should.
If I straighten the wheel it goes right across the road
Jag have it today and have said they all do that - do they ? its really annoying me
Also they couldnt cure the changedown at any press of the throttle so Im using manual which is not a big problem
Any help on the wheel issue appreciated

Car is having a 4 wheel alignment by Jaguar, this will start the process of them doing everything they can to make the wheel straight, I have been in 7 cars now - ALL OF THEM are slightly steering left on the wheel whilst going straight on, if you hold the wheel straight you go off to the right gently. Its not good enough, they have to sort it as its annoying me.
I can put up with all the other bits (that will make me sell it sooner rather than later) but a 5 past 8 wheel isnt one of them

We really feel for you with your slighly out of kilter steering wheel on your £60k car, but should this forum not be about more realistic fixes for us mere mortals who drive older cars and need advice to save thousands in avoiding the main stealers? Respect to you for being able to afford the car in the first place, but it must still be under some sort of warranty/guarantee, make them sort it. If you put it on a Hunter 4 wheel aligner and set it to factory settings, can be pretty sure it would still follow the slighty left hand camber that most of our roads have, especially with badboy big rims on.
Maybe you could put a bit more pressure in your n/s/f front tyre and a bit less in o/s/f, that would help.
Sorry for being a bit blunt, but this forum is getting a bit full of people asking 'should i go for a satin finish gear shift, or chrome' on my new XKR, rather than, 'how do i change the gearbox oil on my 98 xj without spending a fortune'.

Maybe you could put a bit more pressure in your n/s/f front tyre and a bit less in o/s/f, that would help.

If they are doing a 4 wheel alignment and it is done properly then it will get rid of the problem as it is the steering wheel out by ½ a notch hence why when it steers where it wants it is happy but when you move it you activate the pump and the car then moves to the right this is alleviated with the tracking done properly and the wheel held straight when there doing the tracking and adjusting it to the wheel

I have all sorts of crap from Jag with surveys, concierge services, buyer club info etc etc but its polishing a turd as the car aint right in the gearbox and geometry.
I have thought about emailing Mike Ward the chassis guru thinking he wouldnt want a punter to think of his work as so poor / unfixable but lifes too short and the Maser is a good fair wheather friend

DSL, it's a lump of tin FCS! Once you've let it take over your every waking thought it's all over. I would email Mike Cross and see what you can get Jaguar to do about it. It maybe 'you' that is the problem.

Have you tried talking to:
a) a different Jaguar dealer? Maybe the first one isn't fully appreciating how pissed off you are. Sadly not all dealers are as good as they should be.
b) Jaguar themselves. I've never needed to called Jaguar, but I've had plenty of conversations with Mercedes themselves trying to get persistent problems sorted out.

I dont worry about it every waking moment i havent driven it for 2 weeks and have no real desire to do so until its sorted, I like my cars right and this isnt right and im disappointed.
Jag said the dealer would sort it, dealer is awaiting a alignment jig, I will wait for the dealer to call - Im very patient
I think I will chase them up on thursday though, the front park sensors are due a factory update I believe (they work on 10cm from the bumper no further) so they can do both at the same time

Doesn't the steering wheel have splines on the inner bore, which mate to the splines on the steering column shaft.
It could be that the steering wheel was at some point removed and refitted for whatever reason and not put back on dead-centre. When fitted online there are seting jigs. If it was removed later either in off-track, WIP or elsewhere it may not have been.
If this is the issue, it should be a very simple sub 1hr fix for the dealer and shouldn't really need jigs, wheel alignment etc.

If I made ignorant, sarcastic and pathetic comments like that, to genuine people who have a passion for cars .... then I asked how to fix a rusty bolt on my old knacker, I wouldn't expect many replies to help me.
This forum is for EVERYONE, regardless of how much money they have or don't have, or which car (or carS) they indeed own and drive.
It's also worth pointing out, that if it were not for people who are either fortunate enough (or who have worked Bl**dy hard) to get to a position to buy new cars, there would never even be older cars to be enjoyed by others. Someone forked out a lot of money on my S Type R, which I now enjoy (when it's working properly). The same for the guy/girl who forked out £100k+ on my Italian Mistress ... they clearly loved their cars and kept them in tip-top condition, which I am now benefitting from. End of rant!
