SWMBO with LP560 clutch problem...
Discussion
Any words of advice?
My wife had to manoeuvre around a tight, steep car park, after a while she heard a beeping sound which I assume was the 'clutch overheating' warning. She parked up and left the car for two days. Starting from cold this morning she had trouble getting in gear, and when she did move away I could see dust coming from the rear of the car, along with a strong smell of clutch. It seems now to be ok, she has driven all the way back from near Genoa.
I'm not technically minded, so I was assuming when it got hot something stuck and that's what the smell and dust was. She's going to take it to the dealer obviously but in the meantime I wondered if anybody else had experienced anything similar?
It's a brand new spyder, only done 4500km

Probably just overheated and has now calmed down.
MY car has to be reversed up a sloped tight turn every time I want to go in or out, so my clutch wear is quicker than most. The first day I got the car I had to do this same move and without being used to the car managed to do a similar thing and cook the clutch. The next day it was fine and have done another few 000 miles since then with no repeat incident.
Probably wore a nice % off the clutch but doubt it did any damage or cause for concern... You can always get a dealer to plug in a laptop and give you a clutch wear reading.
