Peugeot 3008 - Ugly as sin..
Discussion
I saw one of these today on the M6.
At first I was like what the hell is it...? As I got closer, I realised it was another Ugly Peugeot.
What on earth are Peugeot car designers doing? From the rear quarter view it looked like it was a mishap of wierd angles and bumps.
All this from a brand that gave us the classic 406 coupe and the brilliant 106

They might not look fantastic, but they do drive nicely and the quality is very good
Really?
or are you being sarcastic?
it seems barely plausible
PS. Agree about the looks though. Awkward from virtually every angle. Attractive enough inside but the exterior just doesn't gel.

Peugeot must be looking at Citroen at the moment and question their own recruitment policy because the latter seem to be churning out brilliantly dynamic looking motors while the former make retina-burning monstrosities.
This. But indeed, the interior of this one is rather nice and has a quality feel to it (unlike, for instance, the 207's).
The RCZ does look quite alright in the flesh - a bit over-styled maybe but interesting and er, feline, nonetheless.

The 207 GTI is one of the biggest disappointments I've had - the ride was bone crunchingly hard and it didn't handle like a hot hatch. They've lost their way, I'm just hoping the RCZ is a sign of some sort of turnaround
I've done about 5-600 miles in the 156 bhp RCZ version and can report a partial return to form at least - well-balanced, 'nice' ride and steering feel but of course, wth those huge wheels and tyres it's always going to be grip over handling, i.e. it's no 205 GTI or 306 GTi-6/Rallye... And indeed, as reported elsewhere the sheer tallness of the gearing makes it no more eager or accelerative than my 118 bhp N/A Cooper.

In fact I saw few and from the front and side they look good(rear lights are the problem), surely better than 308. This new 308 gt thp 200 is very probably good car to drive, but so ugly for a Gti.
As I followed one of these that had just sailed through a red light in front of me (school run mum?), I had the opportunity to note that the rear lights don't even light up properly. The cluster is made from two units - one on the body shell and one on the tailgate. The shell units are fine: the single bulb lights them up as you'd expect. The much larger tailgate units, however, are "lit" by a single bulb at the bottom which doesn't cast enough light to full the rest of the cluster - it just fades out. It wouldn't be so bad, by the bit that fades out is right in the the middle of the whole arrangement...Plus, they are - massively wide and *tall*.

It's not a looker I grant you, but the interior's pretty nice, and it's alright to drive.
