Clear indicators were on facelift models (post 06), so looks as though its had new ones. Check what else is new on it!

Were the clear indicators not a BMW performance option when it came out?

Has probably just replaced the headlights. Nothing wrong with that. It's not an expensive swap if you sell the old ones. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

Pre facelift ones had the orange indicators,post facelift ( 06 on) had the clear ones.It was/is a popular mod for the pre facelift Z's to get the clear indicator treatment. Swapping over the side repeaters for clear ones is also popular.Don't let it put you off.It looks like a nice car.
