Probably best to avoid London during the 2012 Olympics.

excellent, they're going to use roads that are already gridlocked during the working week

London will grind to a halt

I was afraid od something like this happening.

Rather than use the opportunity to invest in the infrastructure of London, we are going to have some half arsed temporary measures that will inconvinence everybody else and then bring no long term benefit.

I'll either be working from home or take the time off while the Olympics are on; I'm not going anywhere near London while it's on, it's going to be bedlam.

the worry is that some arsewipe at TfL will want the routes to remain in place but just changed to bus lanes after the games

Straight out of Moscow in the 1980s. They'll be bussing people in to fill the stadiums, too. It's all got to look right.

Personally, I hope to be well out of London for the entire time, and I won't watch a single second of it on the television.

A stupid sport stunt, I hope it rains on every game performance.

What will they travel in?
Charter coaches for athletes, media and sponsors, BMW limousines for VIPS.

That's an odd one. Why BMWs and not Jags, Fords, Nissans or Vauxhalls?

Suspect I will be moving out of London for this little show anyway. Can't imagine anything worse than trying to commute or move around while this is going on.

It's going to be a bloody nightmare for those of that travel regularly in/out of the country too. Better get some flights booked up, or as suggested, don't work while the OG are on.
