Let's face it, Felipe...
Discussion
oh dear
so on the one hand Massa admits that letting Alonso through was his decision, yet he is now stating that he is not a number 2 driver.
Not totally contradictory, but certainly suspicious enough to give further robustness to the argument that Ferrari did indeed issue team orders. If you are on a level par with your teammate, that means you are happy to race them, and that you are allowed to race them; Ferrari were in positions 1 and 2 let us not forgot, so in line for maximum constructor points for that race.
Taking those facts into consideration, the only plausable reason other than team orders why Massa would let Alonso pass is because he did not want to race. From someone who also states in the same interview that he wants to win, that is not the actions of a winner, a racer, or a champion.
Sorry Ferrari, and sorry Felipe, none of this washes at all

His career is finished , he is now just a back up man
Basically a buffer for Alonso IF he can get anywhere near Lewis/Vettel and co. over the coming months.
I think what really irratates people is that there are still 8 races to go. Massa was still in it.
Hi Guys, I'm a newbie around these parts.
What's really irritating me about the whole affair is the way that Massa, Alonso and Ferrari are being so dishonest by perpetuating the myth that it wasn't a team orders incident, when the whole F1 world knows that it was. Why can't they all just hold up their hands and say "OK, it WAS team orders, even though we knew it was breaking the rules, and we felt the $100K fine was a small price to pay for giving our #1 driver a better shout at the championship." They'd all get more respect from us the punters if they did that.

What's offensive is the sheer ineptitude of it. Alonso following Massa is a situation they could foresee, if they want Alonso to get more points than Massa they should have discussed it beforehand then all Massa needed to do was make a 'mistake', lock his wheels, run wide, whatever and nobody would have been any the wiser.

But the whole POINT of the way it was handled was so that Massa and Smedley could let everyone know that it WAS a team order. The last thing both of them wanted to do was to mask that pass. What Massa did was not down to ineptitude, it was down to his unwillingness to just roll over. Obviously, once the race was over, "Corporate Responsibility" began to have its effect on what he said.

Meanwhile, back in Maranello...
Massa said:
Hey guys, great result for the team. Just one thing, though. This doesn't mean I'm number 2 now, does it?
Rob Smedley said:
Alonso.Is.Faster.Than.Yoo. Please confirm you understand.
Massa said:
I am very professional. I drive for the team in a professional way. Please, Stefano, tell me I'm not number two?
Stefano said:

Wouldn't most of them have said "for sure" at some point? Massa said:
