Do they get louder?
Discussion
I've had my E92 from new and over the past month or so (approaching 12k miles) it seems to me that the (standard) exhaust is louder. It almost sounds like it's blowing, although I'm pretty sure it's not.
I've also noticed that when running the DCT with the paddle change, if I go on a trailing throttle from 3rd to 2nd (most commonly, sometimes 4th to 3rd or more rarely 2nd to 1st), I get a very sharp backfire, it can really be quite loud.
Is there a connection? Has this damaged the exhaust at all? Does anyone else get the backfire on changing down?
Or is it nothing to worry about and the exhaust 'beds in' and gets louder with time?

Thanks all
It's booked in for service Friday, so we'll see what's going on then. The chap I booked it in with did say "yes they will do that" but I'd rather it's checked over. It seems to happen mainly when the car's been running enough not to be cold any more, but before it's properly warmed up.
I'd say it's not loud enough to be cracked header / manifold, but I'll report back.

Just an update, it seems nothing is wrong with the exhaust.
The service warning was for brake fluid, no oil change due for about 2800 miles yet.
However I can't put off new tyres any longer so that'll be the 2nd set of rears and 1st set of fronts, in just over 12k miles. And averaging just under 17mpg.
I can't work out how it can be so hard on tyres and fuel and yet so seemingly easy on the engine. I've put two litres of oil in since the running in service.
