lots of dead bees

Keep finding more and more dead bees in our garden and surrounding area...lots more clinging to flowers not being very active. Is it that time of year for bees to die?

Not sure. My favoured trick of feeding struggling bees drops of honey isn't working either, I just find them dead the next day
