Hi,

First time post, apologies if this is a daft question.

I'm thinking of changing my Elise for a Z4MC but the car that I am keen on has an aluminium interior rather than carbon leather. Does anyone know if it's possible to have this swapped and if so what the costs may be. I will ask the dealer but wanted to check with the PH experts as well.

Thanks

Gary

Sorry this doesn't help much but I'm not entirely sure. There's one on PH Classifieds that I'm sure has not sold because it has the wooden trim, yuk!

I tell you what ... you can buy my carbon Trim off me for £18,850, it's a special deal as it comes attached to a complete working Z4M Coupe biggrin

You'll be able to buy all the trim bits from the dealer. They might be expensive though, but perhaps you could sell on your aluminium trim to the poor bloke with the wood trim.

Maybe you could get lucky by calling lots of breakers yards?

It's possible, but I imagine the trim will be bonded to the dash, so removal won't be easy.

Friend of mine wanted to do this... but decided the cost of the parts was prohibitive.

Check out z4-forum, sure it's been done before

I'm sure it will be the same as other BMWs, in that the trim panels are interchangeable. New panels will cost, but if you like the look, it will be worth it.

Your best option is to go to a specialist carbon supplier and buy the trim off of them....ie CA or Vorsteiner!

It's not carbon fibre though, it's carbon effect woven leather, and it's the rarest of the 'normal' trims (aluminium / carbon leather / piano black) to come up on ebay.

I looked into swapping mine to carbon leather when I bought it, but the dealer parts department quoted something over £1000 for all the piece - so I didn't bother.

can be done - search http://www.z4-forum.com/ I seem to remember new trim is very expensive so most get second hand from salvage / ebay etc.

There was one guy on http://www.z4-forum.com/ that did a carbon wrap on the trim parts and it looked very good.

I have an 08 plate Z4M with alu trim (for sale!)

You realise its real aluminium and not painted plastic?
