Wheel clamp question

Gents whats the score when you get wheel clamped by one of these private company's and you manage to remove the lock and clamp...Friend said to me as long as there is no damage then all would be OK. Is it then down to the wheel clamping company to prove that they did clamp your vehicle.

Even if they can I don't think you have to pay! Don't damage it and drive away

Aye if there is no damage, its ok as you havnt broken any laws

To cover your arse though, I wouldnt leave the clamp there as they might take it, call the police and say youv stolen it - hand it into your nearest police station

It's never happened to my but if it did I'd just take the clamp with me (CCTV dependent) and lob it in the canal.

Coppers or whatever come round: "What clamp? Never seen it. Goodbye." Close door.
Personally I'd find it a bit rich if some extortionist scumbag was to have the sheer effrontery to come round whinging because the thing he stuck to your vehicle had disappeared. Tossers. I fking hate clampers.
