Argh!

This makes it all very real now!

Some of you may have read that I have been planning on taking a couple of years out and going to see the world.

Well the flights are booked, the notice has been handed in at work now I am just counting down the days.

Not really sure on the point of this topic just wanted to share with someone before the onslaught of drinking this evening.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Have a fantastic time.

You cant take too many pictures.

Fill memory cards and send them to someone at home to keep them safe. For when you return.

Have a fantastic trip!

Nice one. I did it in '89. Very satisfying feeling, never regretted it, though I was nervous as hell at the time.

That'll work out very expensive in memory cards biggrin

I'd suggest a small external usb harddrive if you're taking a netbook and occasionally make use of internet cafés to burn off DVDs to send home instead.

Well done.

I handed my notice in two weeks ago to move elsewhere in the country and get a flat etc.. not exactly going travelling but once i handed in my notice it all became very real.. now everything seems to be happening so fast!

Enjoy yourself and as someone said above - you can NEVER take too many photos.. just take shots of everything, it is well worth it.

Yep netbook bought, plus a 350Gb passport drive to take.

I have to admit I am not the best photographer but I plan on snapping happy!

Flying to Bangkok on the 2nd November an in Thailand till the end of January I have a wedding on the 22nd Jan on Koh Smaui, then onto Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos (not sure of the order yet, havent booked a thing).

Then flying to Sydney on the 15th May or there abouts... then onto New Zealand for around 6 months, maybe longer.

yeah or something like that.

Just if the worse happens. You get mugged/lose stuff. You wont lose everything that was important about the trip smile

Hell, you can even use the cafés to upload to Flickr if you're not worried about keeping originals.

Oh, and top tip in big cities and whatnot - Apple Stores are more than happy to let you use their kit to process/upload photos, check email etc, if you can't find a cafe

You only live once, so well done to you!

Far too many people in life regret the things they never did.
